About Cape Game Skin: Tannery & Taxidermy in Durbanville
A hands-on tannery and taxidermy studio on a smallholding in Fisantekraal, just outside Durbanville, Cape Town. We tan game skins and cowhides, mount trophies and prepare European skulls, all in-house.

Your trophy, handled with care
Cape Game Skin (Pty) Ltd took over the tannery on 1 May 2023, led by Ettienne Myburgh, a veteran taxidermist with more than a decade of hands-on experience who moved to Cape Town in 2020.
Ewil and Carmen Botes run the business side, the office, admin and finances, so the workshop can focus on the work itself.
We share a love of hunting and the outdoors, and we treat every skin and trophy as the memory it is. Hunters from across South Africa trust our skilled tanners and taxidermists, and the public is just as welcome.
Skilled hands, honest advice
Whether it is your first springbok or a lifetime trophy, you deal directly with the people doing the work.
In-house team
Tanning, mounts and skull work are all done here at our own workshop, not sent elsewhere.
